Bernard Ekbery has lived in Manchester for forty years. He studied creative writing at the Open University in the noughties and joined Manchester Speculative Fiction in July 2019.
When not writing, Bernard enjoys online strategy games, drafting constitutions, drinking red wine, discussing the meaning of life and being an extreme night owl.
Bernard is currently working on a fantasy novella set in Manchester which features time-travel between various eras, from Roman times to the modern day. Although tempted, he’s resisting the urge to turn it into a cycle of novels. He’s also planning a semi-autobiographical, alternative history novel set in the psychedelic seventies.
Apart from having had his explanation of the ending of the film 2001: A Space Odessey read out on Piccadilly Radio and once having written an editorial for City Life magazine, Bernard remains unpublished.
